My Weird List of “Clothing” Verbs
In my book I wrote:
(You can sock or belt someone. I wonder if there are any other clothing words, like skirt, that mean to do something unrelated to clothing . . . you know, verbs. I’m going to make a list on my website. You can help me.)
How about you come up with some other clothing verbs. They can be real or made up. Just put them in your comment. Here’s my example to get you started:
collar: arrest a suspect
“All the evidence pointed to Kevin ‘The Welcher’ as the guilty one, so Detective Armack collared him and brought him to the police station.”
(Det. Armack is me…get it? R. Mack…)
Now it’s your turn. Got any ideas? (Gimme your verb, definition and a sentence…like I did above.)
