Hi!

Everyone calls me Cheesie, but my real name is Ronald A. Mack. The A is for Apton, which is a weird middle name. It’s my mother’s maiden name. I think most kids HATE their middle names. I actually don’t. R. Apton Mack is actually kind of cool sounding…but I like Cheesie best.

Here’s some stuff about me:

  1. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and three freckles on my nose. I also have a whitish scar on my thumb where a fishhook stabbed me when I was on a lake with my dad. I was eight and fooling around. Don’t ask.
  2. My birthday is August 16. I’m now 11, which is, IMO, a very cool age to be.
  3. My ears stick out. But you can probably see that in my picture above. It used to bother me, but now that I’ve written about my ears in my book, a zagillion (that’s a gazillion times bigger than a gazillion) people know, so I say…so what? And this is the last time I’m going to mention them on my website!
  4. I have three grandparents (plus one who died a long time ago), two aunts, two uncles, and two first cousins. I also have the meanest older sister in Massachusetts.   5. I am a very fast runner. One of the fastest in my class, but I haven’t actually raced every kid. I’m on the sixth grade cross country team.
  6. I like sports. Especially baseball and soccer. And I’m a good swimmer.
  7. I read lots of books. Especially adventures.
  8. I love to write about my adventures.
  9. I love words.
  10. And I like making lists…like this one.

    1. I have written five so far. The fifth one comes out this week! I am thinking about more…but who knows. (It’s a lot of work.)

    The day you got the hook caught in your finger, did you catch anything apart from your thumb?

    1. Wow! That’s a really good question. I can’t remember exactly. My dad and I usually catch lots of fish (mostly trout), so I bet I did. My mom doesn’t go with us much. She says when she goes out on a boat early in the morning she catches cold, not fish!

  19. Hi! I am Mrs. Piza, a fifth grade teacher from Baldwin School in Puerto Rico. My students are reading Cheesie Mack is not a Genius or Anything as their summer reading book. When school starts, can I have them write to you? I am planning tons of activities to do with them using your book, especially regarding the use of bigger vocabulary words! It was a fun reading!

    3. Cheese tasting for kids? That’s really different. What kind of cheeses? Any really weird ones? In my fifth book there’s a blindfolded soda-tasting contest.

    4. my friend had a gummy bear with spray cheese on top thing she tied a pillowcase around her nose and mouth and we sprayed three different kinds of cheeses on 12 different gummy beaars and she ate and said wat flavour they were. btw my friend told me i wasnt actually there. She showed me pics for proof

    Regarding your first book, “Cheesie Mack Is Totally Not Advertising His Website Or Anything”, I found it terribly boring, un-creative, and like you were force feeding me to come here, to this dump of a website. The quote on the back of the copy I read, saying Mack was “creative” and “if they don’t believe you, they should check out your website. I’ve seen more creative characters in the 80’s My Little Pony cartoon. You and Jeff Kinney should both write a book together so we can all see just how bad the BOTH of you are.
