Hi!

Everyone calls me Cheesie, but my real name is Ronald A. Mack. The A is for Apton, which is a weird middle name. It’s my mother’s maiden name. I think most kids HATE their middle names. I actually don’t. R. Apton Mack is actually kind of cool sounding…but I like Cheesie best.

Here’s some stuff about me:

  1. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and three freckles on my nose. I also have a whitish scar on my thumb where a fishhook stabbed me when I was on a lake with my dad. I was eight and fooling around. Don’t ask.
  2. My birthday is August 16. I’m now 11, which is, IMO, a very cool age to be.
  3. My ears stick out. But you can probably see that in my picture above. It used to bother me, but now that I’ve written about my ears in my book, a zagillion (that’s a gazillion times bigger than a gazillion) people know, so I say…so what? And this is the last time I’m going to mention them on my website!
  4. I have three grandparents (plus one who died a long time ago), two aunts, two uncles, and two first cousins. I also have the meanest older sister in Massachusetts.   5. I am a very fast runner. One of the fastest in my class, but I haven’t actually raced every kid. I’m on the sixth grade cross country team.
  6. I like sports. Especially baseball and soccer. And I’m a good swimmer.
  7. I read lots of books. Especially adventures.
  8. I love to write about my adventures.
  9. I love words.
  10. And I like making lists…like this one.

    1. I think it would take Karl a long time to eat a 1000-pound hippo, so I think he would weigh about 48 pounds by the time he finished. (Did he eat the bones, the tail, and the intestines?)
      I like penguins a lot.
      You need to read my fifth book, which is about Halloween.

    1. Q1—- Burgers & Pizza: EVERYTHING! I like them really goopy with lots of stuff. (I even like anchovies! But not on burgers.) Ice Cream: I like all kinds, especially if it has nuts.
      Q2– Cherry and lemon meringue.
      Q3– August 16

      Q5– An adult weighs 420,000 pounds (that’s the answer…you have to tell me the question)

  7. Hi Cheesie! My name is Lily and I’m in 5th grade. I go to Raymond E. Shaw School in Millbury MA. My teacher [Karen Magnant] says she and your author [Steve Cotler] are acquainted. Does the name ring a bell? Anyways, my class and I are reading your first book of the Cheesie Mack series ” Not a Genius or Anything” and we have big plans. I’m not going to tell you, because I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Mrs.Magnant said you’ve visited twice. She said something about putting a picture of her door and a your author next to a bulletin board on your website.     1. I asked Steve Cotler, and he said he absolutely knows Mrs. Magnant and thinks she is one the best teachers in the whole UNIVERSE!

      As you probably know, I live in Gloucester, Massachusetts, only 76 miles from Millbury (I checked Google Maps). I do not have a Lily character in any of my books, so there’s a possibility in the future, but think of this: tons of kids ask me to put their names in my books. If I said yes to all of them, my book would be all names and nothing else! Say HI-HI-HI to Mrs. M for me. I think she ROCKS!

      I think my favorite food (this week…it changes from time to time) is lobster…or barbecued chicken…or lasagna. But of course pizza is super-great every week.

    1. I have a friend whose brother lives in Malta, which is an island country in the Mediterranean Sea just a few miles south of Sicily. I hope to go to Sicily someday.

  33. I can’t believe I thought that the 3rd book was different to the 1st just because the pictures looked different to each other and so I thought they had different websites and different books P.S. I liked the 3rd and the 1st but still need to read the 2nd, 4th, and the 5th. lol =)

    1. Georgie is not exactly a big fan of writing comments. He will do it if there is something that really has to do with him. But otherwise…not so much.

    1. Except there is a real word = sappy. It means something so sweet it makes you gag.
