  11. My favorite food is shumai (soo-my) it is not Chinese takeout because in the morning there is this dim sum place (like a restaurant but Chinese.) in downtown Chicago Chinatown called Phoenix. It serves shumai and other dim sum places in Chinatowns. Hope you try some Cheesie. :p

  21. I know this sounds quite a bit fancy for a mere seventh-grader, but I really enjoy fish ceviche!! The dish is typically made from cubed fish marinated in citrus juices such as lemon or lime and spiced with chili peppers. Additional seasonings such as onion, salt, coriander/cilantro, and pepper may also be added. Ceviche is usually accompanied by side dishes that complement its flavors such as sweet potato, lettuce, corn, or avocado.I prefer wheat bread slices topped with it. What’s your take on it, Cheesie?

    1. My grandmother Meemo actually made fish ceviche last week. It was the first time I ever had it…and I loved it! YUM!

    1. I love sushi, especially the pieces with the tiny pink-red fish eggs on top. I love the little pops when I bite them. (Maybe I’m weird, huh?)

    1. No way! You are not gross. Lobsters may look gross (like giant bugs), but they are completely delish!

  44. My favorite food is Chicken Adobo. It is an Philipino dish, my grandma mostly makes it. That is my favorite.

    1. I love Filipino food! My favorite is pancit bihon (for those of you reading this who have never had this food, it is rice noodles fried with lots of other goodies…yum!), which I have had at my friend’s house (he is Filipino-American). His father eats pancit bihon with siling labuyo, which he tried to get me to taste, but those peppers are just too hot!

    1. I ate fried alligator once. It tasted like fried anything. There was lots of crust. I did not dislike it, but it was not a fav for me.

  48. My favorite is Grilled Cheese! Cheesie while I read your book I burst out laughing!!! It’s fantastic!

    1. If you were eating a grilled cheese sandwich while you were reading my book, I bet some pages are a little bit messy!
